A modular product flow producing plant, comprising a fuzzy logic controller (46) for controlling treatment units of the modules (10, 14) using measured product flow representative variables (P, DELTA P/ DELTA t), is new. A product flow producing plant comprises a series of discrete treatment modules (10, 12, 14), at least two (10, 14) of which comprise two or more parallel identical treatment units (18, 20, 22; 34, 36, 38), and a system (16) for controlling the various units as a function of the desired outlet product flow. The control system (16) comprises sensors (48, 50) for measuring variables (P, DELTA P/ DELTA t) representing the product flow and a fuzzy logic controller (46) for controlling treatment units of the same module (10, 14) by means of the measured variables. An Independent claim is also included for a process for producing a product flow by means of the above plant, comprising: (a) measuring two or more variables (P, DELTA P/ DELTA t) representing the product flow; and (b) using a fuzzy logic regulator (46) for controlling, in at least two distinct modules (10, 14), at least two treatment units of the same module by means of the measured variables. Preferred Features: The control system (16) comprises, for each module (10, 12, 14), a control unit (26, 30, 40) for controlling only the treatment units of the module concerned and a central controller (46) connected to the control units (26, 30, 40) and the sensors (48, 50) for controlling the treatment units by means of their associated control unit using control commands furnished by the central controller (46) as a function of the measurements. The sensors (48, 50) are located at the plant outlet (42, 44), especially two or more outlets.
