The seating position measurement technique has an upper section seat (2) which is shaped for the persons use. The section is flexible, and is above a lower rigid section (3). The seating position of a seated person is measured using two set of transmitter/receiver couplers (9,10,11,12). A control apparatus connected to the chair positioner has a lid with internal lighting elements showing the seating position.
