Mail articles are transported along track defined between lower surface of upper plate (110) integral with fixed part of mail processing machine and upper surface (100) of lower movable article guide table (10). Transporting of mail articles is ensured by several driving rollers distributed along track. First series of rollers (12) are placed at inlet to transporter. Two series of rollers (14,16) are arranged upstream and downstream of postal franking means. Means (300-330) comprising levers and meshing toothed sectors are provided to ensure vertical displacement of rollers during passage of article. Tipping of upstream driving rollers causes more significant tipping of downstream rollers.
