The two network subscriber identification technique has a first (11) and second telecommunication network. The subscriber has a mobile telephone with a subscriber interface module (SIM). the SIM has an identifier for each network. The SIM determines the priority of the first and second networks and regularly verifies the coverage field. The SIM automatically identifies to the first telecommunication network under its first identity (IMSI1) when in the first network.
