An oxygen generator has a fuel cell with inlets for air and hydrogen and outlets supplying water and electrical power to an electrolyzer that produces hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen is returned to the fuel cell. Preferred Features: An air/water separator is in the line supplying water from the cell to the electrolyzer. A water pump is also in the line downstream of the separator. A regulating valve is in the line supplying hydrogen to the cell.
