Biodegradable material comprises a core of thermoplastic starch and a shell of a biodegradable polymer having a low melting point and a high viscosity. An Independent claim is also included for a process for producing a starch-based biodegradable multilayer material, comprising using a first extruder for the central starch layer and a second extruder for the external layer, both extruders being connected to the same die.
