A process for producing a lithographic printing plate for platemaking by the ink-jet system comprising forming images by jetting oily ink toward an image receiving layer formed on a water-resistant support with the aid of the electrostatic field, wherein the water- resistant support is a paper support both sides of which are covered with a resin. The process of the present invention can yield a large number of printed sheets with sharp images.
