An anti-inflammatory, either a NSAID or glucocorticoid steroid in the form of an ointment, cream, lotion, gel, powder, paste, film, tape or adhesive bandage, provided with appropriate vehicle to allow specific adherence to a specific gingival area is applied to the area of maxillary alveolar tenderness located in the maxillary third molar apical area.
