This invention pertains to polynucleotides comprising GAX domains involved in GAX biological activity. It may pertain, notably, to domains involved in the interaction of GAX with other molecules or domains that are responsible for biological activity. The invention also pertains to chimeric molecules comprising a GAX functional domain. It also pertains to the use of GAX to repress gene expression, as well as the use of compounds that inhibit GAX interaction with certain cellular partners to modulate GAX activity.
