Diagnostic tool and the diagnostic methods of the pulse generator

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and jig for diagnosing faults in a pulse generator without jacking a vehicle body up or manually rotating a wheel. ;SOLUTION: In a pulse generator 31, changes in a magnetic flux due to the rotation of a gear 23 are detected by a magnetic flux detecting part 22. In diagnosing the pulse generator 31, instead of the rotation of the gear 23, a handle 13 is operated to insert the magnetic material 12 of a jig 10 for diagnosis into a detection gap 24. During being passed through the detection gap 24, the magnetic material 12 receives the biasing force of a coil spring 14 and is moved to a detecting surface 22a as being guided. A high-level or low-level voltage is outputted from the pulse generator 31 depending on the locational relationship between the magnetic material 12 and the detecting surface 22a. In the case that a smaller value than a predetermined high-level voltage value at a high level is outputted or a larger value than a predetermined low-level voltage value at a low level, it is determined that the pulse generator 31 is faulty.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
