PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for catching a small animal capable of catching and treating both a mouse and a cockroach by one apparatus. ;SOLUTION: This floor of a tunnel 30 is provided with a trap floor 11. A catching container 12 is installed below the trap floor. Two sets of optical sensors are arranged at the side of the trap floor 11 so as to make detecting beams 13 and 14 cross the floor. One set of the optical sensors is a high-position optical sensor 15 in which the detecting beam 13 crosses the floor at the height of 10 mm-50 mm from the floor. The other set of the optical sensors is a low- position optical sensor 16 in which the detecting beam crosses the floor at the height of 0.5 mm to 2 mm from the floor. When at least either the high- position optical sensor 15 or the low-position optical sensor 16 detects a small animal, the trap floor 11 is opened to drop the small animal into the catching container 12. After the drop of the small animal, the trap floor 11 is immediately closed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
