PURPOSE: To pickle metal at a low cost without corroding and pitting by adding a mixture composed of a high-polymer compd. having amine or amide group, etc., and a high-polymer compd. having an ether group, etc., to the metal pickling soln. ;CONSTITUTION: The corrosion inhibitor compsn. consisting of the mixture composed of the compd. which has ≥2 pieces of primary to ternary amine, quaternary ammonium group, amide group, etc., within the molecule and is soluble in water or acid and the water-soluble high polymer having an ether group, hydroxyl group, ester group, ketone group, etc., within the molecule is added to the pickling soln., more particularly aq. hydrochloric acid soln. Specific polyamine, polyvinyl cation resin, polyalkylene polyamine, polyamine sulfone, aromatic polyamine, polyamide resin, urea resin and cationic amine polymerized resin are used as the above-mentioned former compd. The latter high-polymer compd. is adequately polyemers, such as ethylene glycol and propylene glycol.
