The coding and decoding scheme by vector quantization

摘要

PURPOSE:To realize encoding and decoding with high quality with few errors, where an individual input waveshape vector is faithfully reflected by a small storing quantity of a code book. CONSTITUTION:In an encoding and decoding system by vector quantization through the use of the code book where the correspondence chart of a signal pattern with an index in a prescribed section is stored, a short distance vector selection monitoring part 8 detects that plural pieces of adjacent vector information are selected. An interpolated vector calculating part 10 interpolates plural pieces of adjacent vector information based on their selecting frequency to generate an interpolated vector. The interpolated vector is obtained by both encoding and decoding devices with same procedure and the code book 7 provided in the both devices is updated by the obtained interpolated vector.
