PURPOSE:To enable any one to safely, easily and precisely measure the speed of saccade by providing such a constitution as displaying a flashing light having an optional length and a prescribed flashing period between targets by a flashing device, and regulating the length of the flashing light, thereby measuring the speed of the saccade. CONSTITUTION:A first moving body 7 is regulated to fit a target A consisting of a red light emitting diode 11 and a target B consisting of another red light emitting diode 11 to the closely observing direction at saccade start and the closely observing direction at saccade end, respectively, and a second moving body 8 is regulated to arrange a flashing device P consisting of an optical fiber 12 and a green light emitting diode 13 in a position for measuring the saccade speed. The circumference is darkened, a person to be measured pursues the alternate lighting of the targets A, B by the eyes, and repeats saccade between the two points of the targets A and B.
