PURPOSE: To assemble a base frame for mounting a moving roof in the regular position of a car body with high precision. ;CONSTITUTION: A pair of roof openings 2 and 3 on both side are formed in the front part of a rood panel, the outer end side in the direction of a car width of each of the roof openings 2 and 3 is opened, and a roof side rail is not installed. A base frame 20 is fixed to a car body and a moving roof 31 is longitudinally movably arranged through the base frame. The base frame comprises a front part 21 attached to a front header 4, a rear part 22 attached to a front edge part 5 of a rear part 1a of a roof panel 1, a central part 23 through which the front and rear parts are intercoupled, and guide parts 24 and 25 extending rearward. In mounting of the base frame on a car body, the base frame is assembled to the car body in a state that either one or all of the outer end part in the direction of a car width of a front header where displacement is apt to occur, the front part of the base frame, and the free end part of each of the guide parts are positioned.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
