PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device of retrieval for a document and so on which retrieves the document, making an appropriate query by using a parameter. SOLUTION: A locus of acceptance 202 for input of character accepts input of characters. A locus of extraction 207 for draw of terms extracts terms gotten by analyzing character roughly. A locus of acceptance 203 for input of retrieval parameter accepts input of retrieval parameter. A locus of thesaurus 204 memorizes more than one term corresponding to the retrieval parameter to each of plural terms. A locus of acquisition 205 for linking terms obtains memorized linking terms corresponding to the retrieval parameter accepted to each of terms extracted from the locus of thesaurus 204. A locus of output 206 for generating a query generates and put up a query containing extracted terms and linking terms obtained to each of extracted terms. A locus of engine 208 for retrieval document retrieves a document by appropriate query.
