PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic focusing device having a zoom lens system and capable of accurately detecting a focal position in a short time.;SOLUTION: The automatic focusing device is provided with a lens system 101 including a focus lens 101a for forming an object image on a prescribed position and a zoom lens system 101b, a CCD 103 for imaging the object image inputted through the lens system 101 and outputting the image data, and a CPU 12 for deciding the final focal position based on the detection results by a CCD-AF and an external AF, and a sampling condition of the CCD-AF is set in accordance with the focal distance of the lens system 101b.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
