PURPOSE: To provide a packaging method in which a resin is protected from damage, and the separation of a strong acid from a catalyst layer is controlled when the catalyst layer for producing bisphenol A is formed by packing the resin in a reactor and a method for producing high quality bisphenol A with the use of the catalyst layer. ;CONSTITUTION: In a packaging method, after a reactor being filled with a strong acid type ion exchange resin, the resin is washed substantially in the absence of oxygen with the use of (i) water, (ii) a mixed liquid of water and phenol, and (iii) phenol in sequence.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
