PURPOSE: To provide a process for producing bisphenol A having high purity and excellent color tone and giving colorless molten material. ;CONSTITUTION: The objective high-purity bisphenol A can be produced by adding an aliphatic carboxylic acid to a weakly acidic crystal adduct of bisphenol A and phenol containing a strongly acidic substance and evaporating and removing phenol from the mixture at 130-200°C under reduced pressure.
