PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimum function which is included in the range of spread and has big robust property corresponding to a spread input such as an error. ;SOLUTION: Corresponding to the spread input such as error, the optimum region [region sandwiched between an upper bound function M⁺(x) and a lower bound function M^-(x)] is set. An unequality is establiashed between this optimum region and the optimum function containing undecided parameters. The distance from the boundary of solution area of parameter corresponding to the boundary of optimum region is set to each parameter value of optimum function, and an optimum function f(x) having the parameter value in the maximum distance is found. A broken line shows an optimum function f'(x) having small robust property and a real line shows the maximum robust optimum function f(x) provided by the method as mentioned above.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
