PURPOSE: To provide means and a method for automating an account transfer registering procedure, removing misentry or misregistration as much as possible, saving clerk's or customer's labor and time required for registration, and completing registration in a short time. CONSTITUTION: This portable terminal 1 is provided with a reading means 12 for reading out registered information from a customer's cash card 4, an input means 13 capable of inputting at least numerals, a storage means 15, a communication means 16, and a processing means 11. The means 12 reads out account information from the card 4, the means 13 imputes the password number of the card 4, the means 16 sends out stored information to another system 2, and the means 11 registers the information read out by the means 12 in a storage area for every customers stored in the means 15 and sends the registered information to the other system 2 through the means 16.
