PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a material having excellent corrosion resistance in a high Al-contg. galvanizing bath at a high temp. by adding a suitable amt. of B to an Ni-Cr stainless steel having a specified compsn. ;SOLUTION: This alloy is composed of, by weight, 0.1 to 1.0% C, 0.5 to 2.0% Si, 0.5 to 2.0% Mn, 20 to 30% Cr, 15 to 30% Ni, 0.5 to 3.0% B and 0.5 to 3.0% Mo, and the balance Fe. By the addition of B, metal borides can be precipitated into the grain boundaries to strengthen the same, by which its corrosion resistance can be improved. The alloy shows excellent corrosion resistance even in the use under high temp. severe corrosive environments such as a galvanizing bath at a high temp. of about 500°C contg. a large amt. of Al. Furthermore, 0.01 to 1.0% Al may be incorporated into the above alloy.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
