PURPOSE: To provide improved portland cement capable of retaining low viscos ity until curing after slurry injection, quickly attaining the cuttable hardness and simultaneously capable of retaining the hardness long and a method for producing ALC using the cement. ;CONSTITUTION: The improved portland cement has 45wt.% to 70wt.% 3CaO.SiO₂ content and a fine powder part is removed from the cement by adjusting particle size of cement. The ALC is produced by adding water to a blend consisting of this improved Portland cement, silicic acid-based raw material powder and calcareous raw material powder, further adding a foaming agent thereto to prepare slurry, then pouring this slurry into a frame mold to expand the slurry, cutting the expanded material into desired size in semi-plastic state after passing for a prescribed time, putting the material in an autoclave and subjecting the material to steam curing under high temperature and high pressure.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
