Steel cord used for belt of pneumatic radial tire and tire using the same

PURPOSE:To remarkably improve the durability of a tire by greatly improving the belt edge separation(BES) and cut separation resistance. CONSTITUTION:The steel cord used as a belt in a pneumatic radial tire has an angle (theta) of the circumferential direction to the cord center line satisfying 5 deg.=(theta)=85 deg., the vertical distance (h) between the adjacent cords satisfying 0.2=(h)=3.0, the ratio (x/lambda) of the distance (x) between the tips of the adjacent cords (A) on the acute angle side from the circumferential direction thereof and the tips of the adjacent cords (B) on the obtuse angle side from the circumferential direction thereof and the distance (lambda) between the adjacent cords in the tire circumferential direction satisfying (x/lambda)=1.5 and =0.02mm average value of the distance between the filaments in the outermost layer of the steel cord. Furthermore, the pneumatic radial tire uses the steel cord as a belt.
