PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new treating agent, preventing an infection and bringing the burn into contact into a state capable of performing a skin transgrafting by containing a propolis and extracts of specific plant and animal for drying the skin damaged by the burn and a hemostatic tissue, and promoting a necrosis thereof. CONSTITUTION: This treating agent for a burn contains (A) 2-15 pt.wt. propolis with (B) 85-97 pt.wt. extracts of Scutellariae, Coptidis rhyzoma, Phellodedri cortex, Lumbricus (i.e., earthworm) and poppy seed shells extracted by a sesame oil, of which content of each extract is 2-10 pt.wt. of the medicine based on their dried materials, as active ingredients. Further, as the Scutellariae, the root of Scutellaria bai calensia Georgi belonging to Labiatae can be used and as Coptis rhyzoma, e.g. the root of Coptis chinensis Franch which is a plant of Ranunc-ulaceae can be used.
