PURPOSE: To make a box toe light in weight and to enhance the impact resistance and cushioning property of the box toe by stacking a plurality of thermoplastic resin sheets containing long fibers aligned in one direction one atop another in many directions, integrating the sheets into a multidirectional resin- reinforced sheet through heating and pressing, then molding the sheet. ;CONSTITUTION: A box toe 1 is obtained when multidirectional resin-reinforced sheets 5 integrated together by stacking a plurality of thermoplastic resin sheets containing long fibers 3 aligned in one direction one atop another in many directions are molded through heating and pressing. The multidirectional resin reinforced sheets 5 are thin and each have glass fibers or the like aligned in one direction as the long fibers 3 and mixed in nylon or polypropylene, etc., and the thin sheets are stacked one atop another by five to fifteen in the longitudinal, transverse and diagonal directions to form an integral multidirectional resin reinforced sheet 1 to 3mm thick. The multidirectional resin reinforced sheet 5 is molded using a molding machine with its head portion 7 raised and arcked and its bottom portion 9 bent, so as to form the box toe 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
