PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a platemaking system capable of forming a symbol image such as a printing plate code or the like simultaneously when an original plate image is formed on the printing plate and a printing system.;SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 has an RIP means 10 for RIP processing original plate image data D0 and converting the data into binary original plate image data D1, a code setting means 11 for setting a printing plate code DC decided in response to working information regarding the printing plate, a symbol image memory means 12 for previously storing a plurality of symbol image data D2 representing the printing plate code and outputting the corresponding data D2 based on the plate code set in the previous stage, a position information memory means 13 for giving position information for disposing the data D2 to the data D1, a symbol image adding means 14 for forming original plate image data D3 inputting the plate code by adding the data D2 to the data D2 based on the position information, and an output unit 15 for forming the image on the printing plate based on the data D3.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
