PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a zirconia-graphite material refractory having excellent spalling resistance even if the content of zirconia is increased to improve corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: This zirconia-graphite refractory is obtained by using a raw material composition comprising 40-87 wt.% middle particle zirconia having 150-10 μm particle diameter, 10-50 wt.% fine powder zirconia having 10 μm particle diameter and 2-10 wt.% graphite raw material, based on the finding that a thermal shock resistance can be improved in the region of the increased amount of the used zirconia by properly regulating particle constitution. The zirconia-graphite refractory can be also obtained by using 1-30 wt.% coarse particle zirconia having 150-500 μm particle diameter, 40-88 wt.% middle particle zirconia having 150-10 μm particle diameter and 10-50 wt.% fine powder zirconia having 10 μm particle diameter as the zirconia raw material.
