PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character string plotting device performing various processings by using font data having arbitrary data structures effectively. SOLUTION: A font data storage part 220 stores font data having arbitrary structures and a font processing function storage part 210 stores various font processing functions utilizing the font data, for example, a function for setting rasterizer initialization and a metrics information by glyph obtaining function or the like. A character plotting system 100 obtains font access information including the address group of various font processing functions and addresses of the font data from an AP 200 and supplies a font ID for discriminating the font access information to the AP. When the AP requires processings related with the character plotting, for example, the obtaining of the width and the height of the character string or the like to the plotting system by specifying the font ID, the system executes a font processing function whose address is specified based on a font access information corresponding to the font ID.
