The invention relates to a two-dimensional finite impulse response filter of order 2p+1 for data processing combining a "vertical" filter (16) and a "horizontal" filter (18), each filter containing 2p+1 cells and means for scanning the data vertically in bands with a height of p data; means (11, 12, 14) for supplying simultaneously on a first line (C) a datum from a band, on a second line (B) a datum from the previous band shifted by p data, on a third line (A) a datum from the previous but one band shifted by a further p data; and means for connecting, on each clock stroke, each cell input to one of the said three lines. …IMAGE…
