PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer film, which can install on a printer exclusively employing a heat sensitive coloring paper and with which clear bright-colored recording and dark-colored recording can be realized with a single thermal transfer film by varying an application energy.;SOLUTION: This thermal transfer film is produced by combining the thermal transfer film, which is produced by forming a thermal transfer ink layer on a base material, with a heat sensitive coloring paper, which colors different in hue from that of a transfer ink. As for a printed matter, in which the thermal transfer ink layer reproduces red color or the coloring of the heat sensitive coloring layer reproduces red color, when an application energy from a thermal head is low, and a plurality of colors produced through the color mixture of the transferring of the thermal transfer ink layer with the coloring of the heat sensitive coloring paper, are recorded onto the heat sensitive coloring paper, when the application energy is high, in the red color obtained under the low application energy, a is set to be 40 to 60, b is set to be 0 to 25 and C* is set to be 40 to 65 and in the black color in the color mixture, a is set to be 0 to 20, b* is set to be 0 to 10 and C* is set to be 0 to 20, resulting in easily allowing to realize clear bright-colored recording and dark-colored recording with the single thermal transfer film.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
