PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reforming catalyst for hydrocarbons the activity of which can be kept for a long time. ;SOLUTION: In a catalyst, an active component of Ni is supported on a carrier of α-Al2O3 or CaO-Al2O3 a part of the Ni reacts with the carrier to form the compound of NiAl2O3, both components of Ni and NiAl2O3 contain carbon, and the latticce constants of the Ni and the NiAl2O3 in the catalyst are increased by the incorporation of carbon.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
