PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a closed forging apparatus and a closed forging method in which the intrusion of a punch is constant, and the cycle time can be shortened.;SOLUTION: The closed forging apparatus comprises an outer slide 1 to be elevated/lowered by a first mechanical drive, an upper die 2 mounted on a lower side of the outer slide 1, an upper punch 4 which is mounted in the outer slide l and protruded downward through the upper die 2, an inner slide 6 which is elevated/lowered by a second mechanical drive and presses-down the upper punch 4, a seaming ram 13 which is inserted in a cylinder chamber 12 formed in a lower holder 11 and held via the pressurized oil, a lower die 16 mounted on an upper side of the seaming ram 13, and a lower punch 17 which penetrates the seaming ram 13 and the lower die 16 and is fixed to the lower holder 11.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
