PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a powdery material which has a beautiful color tone and is useful as a raw material for a powder material used for cosmetics, and to obtain a cosmetic which can arrange the textures of the skin, eliminate the darkness of the skin, give high transparent appearances and natural finishes to the skin, and has excellent makeup persistency. SOLUTION: A pink, yellow or brown-colored powdery material is obtained by adding one or more pigments selected from red and yellow pigments extracted from Carthamus tinctorius L. such as Carthamin and Safflor yellow to the powder of an N-acyl-L-lysine by a means such as adsorption or coprecipitation. A cosmetic contains one or more kinds of the powdery materials.
