METHOD FOR SETTLING PARKING RATES, MANAGING PARKING LOT AND MANAGING ENTERING/LEAVING OF VEHICLE IN PARKING LOT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a vehicle to enter/leave a parking lot for collecting parking rates without stopping in the entrance/exit without requiring a parking ticket and to prevent the congestion of vehicles in the entrance/exit. ;SOLUTION: When a vehicle comes to the entrance of the parking lot, the ID number of the ID card of the vehicle is reported by communication between on-vehicle equipment and the parking lot. The time of entering is recorded in relation to the ID number. Afterwards, at the time of leaving, the ID number is read from the IC card by a previous parking rate settling machine at a prescribed spot in the parking lot. Thus, the ID number is retrieved and the parking rate is calculated from the time of entering and present time. When the settlement of the parking rate is confirmed, the completion of settlement is recorded in relation to the relevant ID number. Afterwards, the ID number of the ID card loaded on the vehicle is recognized by communication between the on- vehicle equipment of the vehicle coming to the exit and the parking lot. When the ID number is retrieved, the completion of parking rate settlement is decided and leaving of the relevant vehicle is permitted.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
