MACHINE TRANSLATION SYSTEM AND MECHANICALLY READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM WITH RECORDED PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lead out the right translated result even when any one means capable of rightly translating an entire input sentence does not exist among plural machine translation means. SOLUTION: A translation range segmenting means 21 segments a sentence in a source language inputted from an input device 11 such as keyboard into the translation ranges of units smaller than a sentence unit such as phrase or clause and each of translation ranges is converted by a character string replacing means 24 for making a machine translation function 31-1 skillful at the time of translating that translation range translate the translation range when that machine translation function 31-1 exists and for directly converting the language character string of the translation source to the language character string of the translation destination when such a function does not exist. A translated result combining means 25 combines the translated result of the machine translation function 31-1 and the converted result of the character string replacing means 24, generates the translated result of the entire input sentence and outputs it from an output device 13 such as display device.
