PURPOSE: To prevent a flight path vector symbol and a runway symbol from overlapping by removing one of the symbols during their merging when an aircraft descends below a predetermined altitude above a runway during landing. CONSTITUTION: A landing display includes a background 11 on which a plurality of symbols providing the information important for a pilot during landing motion are displayed. The symbols include a flight path vector(FPV) symbol 13, a runway symbol 15, and a numerical radar altitude value 17. If the altitude of an aircraft continues to drop during flight, a rising runway symbol 15 and a radar altitude value 17 rise toward the FPV symbol 13 at some point, and when the aircraft descends to a predetermined latitude, the rising runway symbol 15 and the radar altitude value 17 overlap the FPV symbol 13. Before they overlap, one of the merging symbols is eliminated or deleted to thereby avoid the trouble of the radar altitude value 17 becoming difficult to read.
