METHOD AND DEVICE FOR EXECUTING METHOD LOOKUP IN EXISTENCE OF MODULARIZED STRUCTURE SUPPORTING TRANSITIONAL OVERRIDE OF METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method lookup mechanism which not only makes access limitation assumed by a modularized structure to be faithfully followed by also enables the transitional override of a method to be performed. ;SOLUTION: When a method (m) is accessed on a target object, a method (m) in a solved class is checked, whether or not it is declared as public/protected is judged, and when it is not declared, the class of a target object is searched to mount the method (m). When the mounting is not found, the super class of the target object class is searched for mounting. In the case the mounting of the method (m) is found in a class except the solved class, whether or not the current class can access the method (m) in the solved class is judged, and when the current class can access the method (m), the mounting of the method (m) of the current class is called out.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
