PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a system for processing railway tickets, etc., with which whether or not a railway ticket, etc., is of user's is easily decided and the railway ticket, etc., is prevented from illegally being used by a 3rd person. ;SOLUTION: The railway ticket processing system comprises an automatic ticket gate device which reads decision-making data out of a railway ticket that a passenger shows and automatically performs a ticket examining process and a monitor device which is connected to the automatic ticket gate device and monitors and sets the state of the automatic ticket gate device. An IC card type railway ticker is used as a user-specified commutation ticket, face image data of the user is previously recorded on the IC card type railway ticket and read out by the automatic ticket gate device when necessary, so that the data are displayed as a visible image on the automatic ticket gate device and its monitor device.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
