PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the manufacturing method of an elastic body for improving the machining precision of a ring-shaped elastic body made of sintered metal for composing the vibrator of an oscillatory wave-driving device. ;SOLUTION: A plurality of protrusions 1a are formed on one surface of a ring-shaped elastic body 1 made of sintered metal. In the sizing treatment for removing deformation by residual thermal stress, the depth of a slit 1d at three locations is set deeper than another slit 1e at an internal of nearly 120°, and the bottom surface of the slits 1d is set to the same level, thus easily and precisely obtaining a mounting reference to, for example, the chuck of a lathe in the post-machining (machining) and machining the elastic body with stable shape precision.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
