PURPOSE: To surely nip a cucumber with the central part of a holder and hold the cucumber. ;CONSTITUTION: This method is constructed by dividedly installing photoelectric sensors 2 and 3 for sensing the passage of a cucumber in the front and rear side part of a holder 1 for holding the cucumber and holding the cucumber with the holder in a state in which the passage of the cucumber is sensed by the photoelectric sensor 2 in the front side part but unsensed with the photosensor 3 in the rear side part.
