REDUCED PRESSURE DIE, REDUCED PRESSURE- AND PRESSURIZED DIE FOR CASTING LIGHT ALLOY CASTING BY GRAVITY DIE CASTING METHOD AND CASTING DEVICE USING THIS REDUCED PRESSURE DIE AND REDUCED PRESSURE- AND PRESSURIZED DIE
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize manufacture of thin products with which hot cracking is prevented by the constitution to enhance the pressure reduction of the cavity of a die for casting light alloy castings by a gravity die casting method and to enhance the feeding effect thereof.;SOLUTION: The die for manufacture of the light alloy castings by the gravity die casting method consists of the structure characterized in as follows: The die comprises an upper die 2 and a lower die 1. The die is provided with a plunger 11 which makes the flow of the molten metal temporarily stoppable and stagnatable at the middle of a runner 10 through which the molten metal poured into the die from a pouring port 8 of the lower die 1 arrives at the cavity 5 and communicatable via an aperture 12 of the runner in such a manner that the plunger 11 can lift in the die. The die parting plane of the upper die 2 is provided with a sealing groove 7 to a loop form to enclose the cavity 5 in communication with a pouring basin 9. The die is provided with plural suction ports 16 opening to the die parting plane of the lower die 1 along the other end of the cavity 5 so that the air in the cavity 5 is sucked by a vacuum pump through refractory cloth 13 consisting of refractory fibers laid on these suction ports 16.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
