OCEAN TOWING CABLE FOR EARTHQUAKE SURVEY STREAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ocean towing cable for an earthquake survey stream capable of selectively gas-filling or degassing two adjacent chambers or opening and closing for communication between the chambers through the same orifice in simple design. ;SOLUTION: Valve mechanisms 12A, 13A include closing members 13A, 13B pressed to a communicating opening part to an intervening orifice 10 by springs 14A, 14B, and guide rods 17A, 17B partially entering the intervening orifice when the closing members closes the communicating opening part. The guide rod of each valve mechanism pushes back the intervening orifice from the inside of the intervening orifice to be communicated with one of the chambers A, B or both of them at the same time.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
