PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit and a method for driving electrooptical device in which occupancy area of the circuit is made small and the power consumption for the driving is reduced. ;SOLUTION: First, a first charging section C1 conducts charging of a parasitic capacitor CS while a switch section is in its off condition. Second, a second charging section C2 conducts charging of an internal capacitor CD while maintaining the off condition of a switch section SW. Third, the section SW is turned on. Then, electric charges flow from the capacitor CD to the capacitor CS and finally the voltage values of the capacitors CD and CS are made equal. Fourth, the section C2 again conducts charging of the capacitor CD while the section SW is turned off. After that, the third and the fourth processes are repeated and the voltage value of the capacitor CS is made to a desired value.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
