PURPOSE:To improve maintenance and to prevent the generation of a defective product by providing each controller board for a producing equipment with a failure diagnosing function capable of occasionally executing the failure diagnosis of a necessary item in the controller board itself or the producing equipment and flexibly corresponding to the improvement/change of the equipment. CONSTITUTION:Controller main boards (MMCB, MMIB) are respectively provided with failure managing means for the whole equipment to execute the issue of a failure diagnosing command, the reception of a result, the check of a result report completion and the display of the result based upon an operator's diagnostic contents instruction and start and controller slave boards (NCCB, SCCB) are respectively provided with self-failure diagnosing means and I/O parts failure diagnosing means to allow the former means to execute self-failure diagnosis by using a self-failure diagnosing program and self-failure deciding reference data, allow the latter means to execute I/O parts failure diagnosis by using an I/O parts failure diagnosing program and I/O parts failure deciding data and allow both the means to transmit respective failure diagnosing results to the failure managing means on the main boards.
