PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent polymers and tars from sticking to an apparatus wall and the inner wall of a pipe when vaporizing and thermally decomposing dicyclopentadiene in the vapor phase to produce cyclopentadiene. ;SOLUTION: A vaporized dicyclopentadiene fraction is lowered in a discharging part of a vaporizer and led into a trap container and the polymers and tars dropping in the discharging part together with the flow of the vaporized dicyclopentadiene fraction are trapped in the trap container. The vaporized dicyclopentadiene fraction is then led to a decomposition furnace.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
