PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide nitriding type isotropic rare earth magnet material of high performance which is composed of hard magnetic phase of ultrafine crystal grains, or hard magnet phase of ultrafine crystal grains and soft magnetic phase, and has improved magnetizing property. ;SOLUTION: This nitriding type isotropic rare earth magnet material has main component composition shown by RαT100-(α+β+γ)MβNγ in atomic percentage (R is at least two kinds out of rare earth elements containing Y and contains Sm and La, occupation ratio of Sm in R is at least 50 at.%, La content is 0.05-2 at.%, T is Fe or Fe and Co, M is at least one kind out of Zr, Nb, Hf, B, Ti, Al, Sc, Cr and Mn, 4≤α≤15, 0≤β≤10 and 10≤γ≤20), and is practically composed of hard magnetic phase whose main part is TbCu7 type crystal phase.
