PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin for hot-plate thermal welding which is prepared from a polycarbonate resin excellent in resistances to heat and impact, has been improved in thread-forming phenomenon in hot-plate heating, and can be used as a lens material utilizing the clarity.;SOLUTION: The resin for hot-plate thermal welding contains a branched polycarbonate resin. In the welding method, a molded article containing a branched polycarbonate resin is used as at least one of two molded resin articles to be bonded to each other by hot-plate thermal welding; and the surface to be bonded of the molded article containing a branched polycarbonate resin is brought into contact with and heated by a hot plate to be melted, then is separated from the hot plate, and is welded to the other molded article, thus giving a welded article.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
