HYDROGEN GENERATING AGENT AND HYDROGEN GENERATING METHOD UTILIZING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a novel hydrogen generating agent capable of efficiently generating hydrogen in a controllable condition. SOLUTION: This novel hydrogen generating agent consists of a combination of a solution (A) which comprises at least one kind of component selected from metal hydrogen complex compounds represented by the formula M1M111 H4-nRn or M11 (M111H4-nRn)2 (wherein, M1, M11, M111, R and (n) denote an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal or zinc, a group III metal in the periodic table, an alkoxy or acyloxy group and an integer of 1-3, respectively) dissolved in an alkaline medium and at least one component (B) selected from the group consisting of a metal having catalytic ability, an alloy having hydrogen occluding ability and a fluorinated product thereof.
