PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slope-collapse measuring apparatus by which the collapse near the surface of a slope can be measured by a method wherein another optical fiber is connected to an optical fiber which is cut near the slope. ;SOLUTION: Winding parts 15 at prescribed intervals are installed at a first optical fiber 12 which is arranged along the depth direction of a bored hole 11 which is formed along the horizontal direction so as to pass the slope 10. An optical-fiber strain-distribution measuring device 14 is connected to the fiber 12 via a second optical fiber 13. Optical pulses are propagated, and their Brillouin scattered light is observed. A region in which the scattered light cannot be measured due to reflected light from the connection part of the measuring device 14 does not exceed the winding part 15 which is closest to the connection part. That is to say, a region in which the collpase of the slope cannot be measured refers to a region from the surface of the slope up to the winding part in a position closest to the surface of the slope.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
